The sudden and seemingly friendly exchange between former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump at former leader Jimmy Carter‘s state funeral in Washington, DC caught some by amazement. The second, which went popular, has sparked debate online, with” The Daily Show” offering its own take on the face.
During the meeting, President, Trump, and several other former US officials, including George W Bush, Bill Clinton, and Mike Pence, were seated together in close contact. The seating arrangement immediately attracted attention, especially after a lengthy and friendly conversation between Trump and Obama that turned out to be yet laughing together.
In its cover,” The Daily Show” highlighted the discomfort of the condition, mocking the humor of Obama’s past rhetoric against Trump. The artist joked,” It’s a little odd for Obama though, best? To go from’ this man is coming Hitler’ to ‘ oh, man, awesome story, future Hitler!'” Obama often referred to Trump as a threat to democracy during his campaign victories, and the statement made reference to that statement.
The conversation didn’t get unnoticed by others at the death, including vice president Kamala Harris. In a clip shared by Mediaite, Harris turned around at one place and saw Obama and Trump chatting kindly, until immediately facing forth again, looking obviously disappointed. I’m not sure if Carter’s death song or hers, the comedian said. Kamala gave the expression” I do when someone is talking to me in the theater.”
The prank continued,” She did not seem glad to be sitting that close to Donald Trump. She spent the rest of the day combing through the funeral plan hoping to find 44 political seats.
During Trump’s presidency, Obama was one of his fiercest critics, often accusing Trump of fueling controversial politicians and endangering American democracy. In one of his more distinctive views, Obama described Trump as “our worst emotions unleashed”.
