Yoon Suk Yeol did not attend the second impeachment reading against him over security concerns, said the North Korean President’s attorney.
Concerns about safety and possible situations have arisen. The President may not be able to go the test on January 14 as a result, Yoon Kab-keun’s attorney told AFP.
The President is also ready to appear at any time once security concerns are resolved, he added.
After his brief but unsuccessful power get plunged South Korea into its worst political crisis in decades, Yoon resisted arrest last week in a strained stand-off between his soldiers and authorities.
After an initial seven-day buy expired on Monday, investigators obtained a new arrest warrant for Yoon this workweek. Hundreds of his supporters rushed to the president’s residence in sub-zero temperatures.
In the interim, Yoon’s legal team filed an injunction to halt the warrant and filed an issue with the judge that issued it.
The military disaster
Yeol immediately imposed martial law on December 3 and immediately reversed it following common criticism.
The South Korean President cited “anti-state actions” and North Vietnamese challenges as justifications for the walk, which would have enshrined military dominance over human operations.
Yoon stated in a televised address that fighting legislation was required to shield the nation from “anti-state makes” and the growing hazard posed by North Korea. Although he provided much practical proof to support his accusations, the senator accused opposition parties of paralyzing the authorities and undermining the government’s politics.
