At least 24 people have died as a result of the Los Angeles fires that are still continued, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner on Sunday.
According to the report released by the government, the majority of casualties have been recorded in the Palisades and Eaton fire areas. 16 of the dead were discovered in the Eaton Fire territory, and eight of the deceased were found in the Palisades Fire area.
According to an NBC reports report, the flames have ripped through great areas, burning 40, 000 acres and destroying over 12, 300 buildings. Evacuation orders have been increased, affecting hundreds of thousands of LA County citizens, as the flames continue to burn.
The largest flame, the Palisades Fire, remains just 11 % contained and poses a serious risk to areas like Brentwood, Encino, and Westwood. As of Sunday, evacuation orders are in place for 105, 000 people, with another 87, 000 in districts under evacuation alert, prepared to leave if circumstances increase, the report says.
Local officials have declared a public health emergency, warning that the flames ‘ smoke and particulate matter may include long-term health outcomes.
The powerful Santa Ana winds, which energy the fires, are expected to intensify, more complicating the condition. Winds of up to 70 miles are anticipated in the hills, increasing the risk of the hearth spreading.
With the flames also burning out of control, people, officers, and emergency companies are on higher alert, hoping to have the fire before they cause more widespread damage and loss of life.
