Former first lady Michelle Obama will not be attending Donald Trump’s opening, her department said Tuesday.
The 60th Inaugural Ceremonies will feature former President Barack Obama. Former first lady Michelle Obama does not enter the approaching inauguration”, the statement said.
No reason was given for her presence.
Michelle Obama likewise missed the former president’s funeral services last year. Barack Obama, George W. and Laura Bush and Bill and Hillary Clinton were in attendance, as were President Joe Biden and Jill Biden and President-elect Trump and Melania Trump.
The Trees are planning to enter the opening, the former mayor’s office said. According to their individual members, Angel Urena and Nick Merrill, both Story may be present at the commencement.
