Scott Jennings strongly defended Pete Hegseth after a Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell downplayed Hegseth’s qualifications, claiming his main accomplishment was being a TV host, during a CNN panel.
Hegseth is described as “articulate and refined” in a video that CNN viewpoint contributor Scott Jenningson reposted on his X handle, claiming that his television career was his main focus. He was quite diplomatic and well-educated, and he is a Television number. That’s his principal qualification”, she said which clearly angered Jennings.
Responding to the panelist, the liberal democratic strategist and author fired back, calling the note rude and highlighting Hegseth’s military history. ” Why belittle this man’s company, I don’t know. 20 times. Decorated. Ivy Leaguer” Jennings said.
The two were fighting back and forth because of this, both of them standing up for their positions. Rampell retorted Rampell’s claim that” not every member of the military deserves to be in charge of the dod,” which Jennings once refuted given Hegseth’s former status. Addressing the number, he said,” She said his principal qualification is that he’s a TV host. And I’m sad, that’s really ham. His certification is that he is a war fighter, and he will be the Pentagon’s most joined personnel’s closest comparable to those who run the organization. He’s decorated, he’s an ivy club”
This was followed by CNN outlet Abby Phillip asserting,” To be clear, Scott, I hear you say that because I remember Pete Hegseth said it. I believe you ought to remember that there have been those who have led the Pentagon during times of war. Even if they are soldiers, they have been in battle. Their services doesn’t get to become denigrated either”.
Jennings again more responded,” He’s closer to the typical joined man who has been deployed and deployed and deployed.”
Meanwhile, as Hegseth faces confirmation hearings, Jennings in another interview praised his conduct saying, “kicked their ( Democrats ) asses today )”. Jennings expressed to his CNN associates, in response to buoy Dana Bash’s question, that the performance was quickly one-sided. He noted,” I mean, it wasn’t even similar. They didn’t place a sleeve on Hegseth. No errors. Calm, nice, collected”.
Pete Hegseth, older 44 and a veteran of the Army National Guard, underwent an intensive four-and-a-half-hour questioning period before the Senate Armed Services Committee. The council members examined a number of aspects of his private behavior, including allegations of sexual misconduct and his drinking habits.
Jennings noted that Hegseth handled the Democratic senators ‘ crucial evaluation with complete preparation in spite of being one of the more difficult verification prospects among President-elect Donald Trump‘s nominees. The original Fox News reporter appeared ready to address the opponent’s issues.
