Ramaswamy was the tomost contender but he withdrew his name from the race after he was made a co-chief of the Department of Government Efficiency along with Elon Musk.
According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump reportedly urged biotechnology investor Vivek Ramaswamy, a billionaire, to consider running for president of Ohio if the position were to be offered to him. After Trump chose him to lead the” Department of Government Efficiency” panel along with billionaire executive Elon Musk, Ramaswamy publicly withdrew his name from consideration for the position in November. However, the Ohio native has recently resurfaced as one of the leading candidates for the Senate seat and is currently in advanced conversations with GOP officials about the place, according to the report.
JD Vance, who formerly held the chair, formally resigned Friday to serve as Trump’s evil leader. Under Ohio laws, Gov. A special election on November 3, 2026 will determine who will serve until the term expires in 2029, and then Mike DeWine ( R ) will appoint a replacement for the following two years.
