US President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced that a ceasefire and prisoner offer had been reached between Israel and Hamas, ending over 15 times of conflict, calling it the” toughest conversations” he has previously experienced. The package, structured in three stages, includes a full peace, the departure of Israeli causes from Gaza, and the launch of captives, including Americans, in the first step.
The US senator said in his remarks,” It’s a very good day because at last, I may reveal a ceasefire and a captive offer has been reached between Israel and Hamas.” More than 15 weeks of suffering for the honest folks of Gaza and more than 15 weeks of despair for the captives, their households, and the Israeli government. The victims will soon be free of their families, and fighting will quit in Gaza.
According to Biden, the negotiations were among the most difficult he had ever had, and they were attributed to the force Israel put on Hamas with US support that led to the conclusion of the deal.
” Those who have closely watched the conversations can attest that the path to this agreement has not been straightforward. I have spent years working in international policy. One of the most difficult discussions I have ever had is this. I am at this stage as a result of the stress Israel has placed on Hamas, which is supported by the US. The US even established a partnership of 20 nations to defend against Houthis attacks, including their missile attacks in Israel. I rallied important nations at the G20 in Delhi in September 2023 to support a perception of an Indian financial carter expanding from the Middle East to Europe, which has now come into being.
The agreement’s three stages
According to Biden, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas may be put into effect in three stages.
The deal’s second stage may last six days and includes a complete peace, the departure of Israeli troops from populated areas of Gaza, and the transfer of hostages held by Hamas, including women, the elderly, and the wounded. During this stage, Israel will also release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
The second phase will involve negotiations for the release of the remaining living hostages and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The ceasefire will remain in effect as long as the negotiations continue, if they take longer than six weeks.
According to Biden,” when Phase two begins, there will be an exchange for the release of the remaining living hostages, including male soldiers, and all remaining Israeli forces will be withdrawn from Gaza and the temporary ceasefire will become permanent.”
A major reconstruction project for Gaza will begin in the third phase, in which any hostages who have been killed will have their remains returned to their families.
A major reconstruction project for Gaza will be in place, he added, and any final remains of hostages who have been killed will be returned to their families as well, according to him.
According to the health ministry in Gaza, Israel’s military operations in Gaza have killed at least 46, 707 Palestinians and wounded 110, 265 since October 7, 2023. In Israel, at least 1, 139 people were killed during the Hamas-led attacks on that day, and more than 200 were taken captive.
