The Constitution Reform Commission recommended introducing a two-term maximum on the PM’s career in a document that was submitted to the Muhammad Yunus-led time government on Wednesday. In order to ensure representation for all, it also suggested reintroducing a bicameral parliament with a lower house ( the national assembly ) and upper house ( the senator ).
Both homes will have terms of four decades, meaning govt’s and the PM’s name will also be four decades, the committee has suggested. It has suggested changes to make sure the prime minister may experience a motion of no confidence in parliament.
It has suggested the establishment of a system of checks and balances between the three trees of the condition and the two senior positions, PM and leader, to reduce the concentration of power in the hands of an adult or organization.
This government would include the chairman, chief justice, PM, rulers of criticism of both homes, speakers and assistant speakers from the opposition, and a member of different parties. The committee suggests decentralizing the judiciary by keeping the Supreme Court’s unitary structure intact and establishing lasting high courtroom benches with jurisdiction in all administrative cities.
It also established a model for an interim government to become established following the dissolution of parliament, and suggested that the NCC should be in charge of selecting the advisers to these governments.
