President-elect Donald Trump, his father and son, did bookend President Joe Biden throughout history.
Biden assured his deputies, never Trump’s, that the peace and prisoner deal in Gaza would be respected even though he acknowledged Team Trump would need to implement the plan and was kept informed throughout the event. He did so on Wednesday nights.  ,

Nearly all of Biden’s speak about checks and balances, the importance of constitutional considerations, and leaders not being above the rules was not too gently aimed at Trump.
” After 50 years at the center of all of this, I know that believing in the idea of America means respecting the organizations that govern a free world, the president, the Congress, the courts, a free and independent media, establishments”, he said. ” Our structure of separation of powers, checks and balances may not be great, but it’s maintained our republic for nearly 250 years, more than any other nation in history that’s actually tried for a strong test”.
Biden defined his presidency mainly in opposition to Trump from his inaugural speech to his farewell address. To avoid further Democrat losses in the 2022 midterm elections, he relyed on anti-Trump attitude to secure a second term of office. Although fact-checkers did not always agree with Biden’s assessment of Trump’s comments about the dreadful occurrence, he claimed he ran in 2020 because of the fatal white nationalist rally in Charlottesville.
Biden vowed to turn the page on Trump, but Trump often dominated Biden’s text.
Biden continued to say he had been president for all Americans, but he left confusing about how far beyond Trump his repeated cautions that the “MAGA action” was a threat to democracy.  ,
Biden occasionally appeared to be stoked to operate against Trump despite often expressing concerns that democracy was in danger. He said while he was in Brussels in 2022,” I’d be quite lucky if I had that same person running against me.” It will stand out as an illustration of the proverb that you should be cautious with what you want.
Perhaps all this was expected, given Trump’s unwillingness to accept the 2020 election or join in the subsequent change process. Biden took office in 2021 two days after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters.

Most significantly, Biden’s age and growing popularity, fueled by prices hitting a 41-year large, panic at the borders and abroad, and a disconnect between how the White House and electors viewed the state of the economy, created the conditions for Trump’s treatment.
On Wednesday night, Biden twice praised the accomplishments of his own policies and administration, and twice praised Vice President Kamala Harris. This celebration of their success sits uneasily next to Biden’s claim that he is ceding power to a democracy-endangering oligarchy after an election he exited at his party’s behest and Harris, his handpicked successor, lost.
