After seeking an agrimo ( request for official recognition ) on the appointment of its new high commissioner to India, Bangladesh’s foreign ministry said on Thursday that it is awaiting a response from New Delhi.
” We are waiting for India’s email. I don’t believe it’s taking longer than usual. While there is no fixed period, it generally takes three to four months”, foreign government spokeswoman Mohammad Rafiqul Alam told reporters at the agency’s weekly presentation.
Alam questioned whether former prime minister Sheikh Hasina had obtained Indian membership, saying that” the government does not have any knowledge on this.”

He furthermore remarked that the subject of Hasina’s” position” in India is for American govt to decide.
When questioned about the bilateral agreements Bangladesh and India have signed, the director claimed that all relevant records have already been made public.
In an apparent reference to Hasina’s reported card expansion, the interval state recently stated that immigration issues become meaningless once an individual’s id is revoked.
The department of immigration and documents cancelled the documents of 97 people, including Sheikh Hasina’s, citing claims of participation in the July deaths and enforced abductions.
Hasina, 77, has emigrated from Bangladesh in August last year, triggering popular demonstrations that led to her departure. Dhaka has yet to get a reply to a word verbale sent to India, requesting Hasina’s abduction.
