Adams has grown kinder to Trump in recent months after the Democratic governor was indicted on fraud claims in September, and he has mirrored the president-elect’s “rigged justice system” views.
The president’s office announced that Adams was heading to Trump’s Florida estate on Thursday, though the appointment did not appear on his open plan.
New York City Deputy Mayor for Communications Fabien Levy stated in a statement that” Mayor Adams has made quite clear his willingness to work with President-elect Trump and his approaching leadership on behalf of New Yorkers.”
” Wednesday, Mayor Adams did sit down with President-elect Trump and explore New Yorkers ‘ interests”, he added. The governor anticipates engaging the incoming president in a productive discussion about how we can advance our town and nation.
Trump has also been pleasant with Adams, relating to him at the Manhattan-located Al Smith Dinner in September.
” We were persecuted, Eric”, Trump said finally. ” I was persecuted, and so are you, Eric”.
Trump announced a few months after that he would think about pardoning Adams.
In September, Adams was charged with five federal problem counts in connection with allegations that he “illegally accepted journey and gifts through the Greek government” and that he had solicited and received illegal campaign donations from foreigners. He reportedly accepted public funds to support his strategy and also allegedly received incredibly low-cost travel.
At the time of his accusation, the president dismissed the allegations.
” It is now my belief that the federal government intends to bring charges against me for crimes. If but, these fees may be totally false based on lies”, he said. Leaks and stories have been spread to destroy my trust and make me appear guilty for months.
The president’s trial is set for April, two weeks before the June 24 Democratic key in the 2025 New York City gubernatorial race. Among the candidates running for mayor of Adams ‘ area are capital Comptroller Brad Lander and former capital Comptroller Scott Stringer.
Previous New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s rumored involvement in running for mayor is likewise reported.

Since his accusation, Adams has been incredibly unpopular, and he is regarded as having handled the city’s immigration crisis ill. In a recent poll, Cuomo led the pack in support of municipal candidates, with him near the bottom in the surveys.
Trump may lose out on a gubernatorial election if his conviction in his fraud case proves otherwise, but he could also prevent him from serving any occasion if he chooses to forgive him.
