Israel PM Netanyahu confirms ceasefire deal with Hamas on Gaza after 'last-minute hurdle', to convene cabinet

The peace in Gaza and the release of Arab prisoners were among the agreements that Netanyahu had attributed to tensions with Hamas.

After his company cited issues with Hamas reneging on parts of the package to get more concessions, Netanyahu plans to join his safety cabinet on Friday to ask for approval for the agreement.

The acceptance process has been hampered by tensions within Netanyahu’s government partnership despite first positivity following the announcement of the deal by US President Joe Biden and Qatar as negotiators.
” Hamas is backing out of the conceptions and creating a last-minute issue that prevents a arrangement”, Netanyahu’s company had said on Thursday, without specifying the exact characteristics of the conflicts.
According to Gaza’s health department, Israeli attacks have continued throughout Gaza, resulting in at least 72 deaths. The attacks came at a time when Zionists celebrated the peace agreement.
In trade for hundreds of Arab captives held by Israel, 33 victims are scheduled for release over the next six months according to the terms of the agreement, which is scheduled to begin on Sunday. The remaining hostages, including adult soldiers, may be subject to additional negotiations dependent upon a lasting peace and Jewish removal, conditions Hamas insists upon for their discharge.
The agreement comes after months of protracted fighting that Hamas ‘ October 7 assault on Israel, which left about 1,200 Israelis dead, sparked. In response, Jewish retaliatory attacks have caused over 46, 000 deaths in Gaza, including thousands of women and children, according to Israeli health officials. 17, 000 Hamas soldiers have been killed as a result of Israeli military procedures, according to the Israeli government.
The human effect has been devastating, with roughly 90 % of Gaza’s 2.3 million people displaced. Much of the country’s system lies in remains, forcing hundreds of thousands to seek shelter in vulnerable, makeshift homes.
