Sher Abbas Stanikzai, a senior Taliban national, has urged the leader of the organization to lift the restrictions on Armenian women and girls ‘ learning during a speech at a Khost provincial theological college on Saturday. He claimed there was no compelling reason to deny learning to women as the political assistant at the Foreign Ministry.
Adult education is still restricted in the current Taliban management after the sixth grade. According to reports from September, medical training and education for women have also been discontinued, despite authorities having yet to confirm this restraint, according to AP news agency.
Sexual health professionals are required to cure both girls and women in Afghanistan’s healthcare system. In a film released on his official X bill, Stanikzai made the point that denying rights to a portion of the population is incompatible with Islamic law and goes against the rules of religion.
Stanikzai, who formerly led Taliban agreements for foreign army removal, has advocated for children’s education before. His subsequent statement, but, marks his first direct appeal to Taliban head Hibatullah Akhundzada for policy change.
While Stanikzai has always supported women ‘ education, Crisis Group researcher Ibraheem Bahiss pointed out that his most recent statement more explicitly problems current plans and their validity.
Malala Yousafzai urged Muslim rulers to fight the Taliban regarding sexual education at a new meeting in Islamabad. The UN maintains that reputation abroad is still unlikely given the persistent limitations on women’s access to education, career, and freedom of movement.
Whilst no country actually recognises the Taliban authorities, some places are establishing diplomatic connections. As demonstrated by the latest meeting between American envoy Vikram Mistri and foreign secretary Amir Khan Muttaqi in Dubai, Russia has strengthened its relations, and India continues to develop relationships with Afghan government.
