Biden said these commutations were to save them from incoming President Donald Trump. “Baseless and socially determined studies wreak havoc on the life, health, and financial stability of targeted people and their families, ” Biden said in a statement Monday night. Fauci released a speech which said he appreciated Biden’s forgive but insisted that he had done nothing wrong.
“The release of these clemency should not be mistaken as an acknowledgement that any specific engaged in any wrong, nor should embrace be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offence, ” Biden added. “Our society owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless dedication to our land. ”
Biden set the political records for most people clemency and pardons, including reducing the words of roughly 2,500 people convicted of violent drug infractions. Recently, he converted the words of 37 of the 40 people on national death row to life prison without the possibility of parole.
