The CBP One application, a state program that the Biden presidency used to say more than 740,000 immigrants into the United States, was shuttered within moments of President Donald Trump taking department this afternoon.
Customs and Border Protection announced Monday evening that CBP One had no longer allow newcomers outside the U. S. borders to schedule meetings with U. S. customs officials at ports of entry on the southern boundary or send information for permission to fly on business airlines into the land from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
“Effective January 20, 2025 at 12:00PM Eastern Time, the functions of CBP One ™ that earlier allowed illegal aliens to register progress info and schedule meetings at eight southwest borders ports of entry is no longer available. All meetings have been cancelled, ” said the article to Instagram.

The Biden-Harris leadership added two features to the game in early 2023 that allowed refugees to use from outside the region for admission or to match with a U. S. customs officer. The move was intended to give immigrants a way to seek admission without illegally coming over the southern border between ports of entry, but Republicans have criticized it as a backdoor to admit hundreds of thousands of people into the country in less than two years.
The CBP One app permitted immigrants from four countries, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, to apply to enter the U. S. on parole, which allowed an individual to remain for two years and receive a work permit. Recipients were required to have a sponsor in the U. S. and pay for their international commercial flight. Since the process was fully rolled out in January 2023, more than half a million people have been admitted.
Another 327,000 people were cleared to fly into the country under the Biden administration, according to CBP.
The app’s second function allowed immigrants in Mexico to schedule an appointment at a land port of entry on the southern border to meet with U. S. customs officers. Up to 1,450 appointments could be scheduled daily, for a total of more than 43,000 per month. Immigrants who scheduled appointments waited months to be seen at one of eight ports of entry used for appointments and were overwhelmingly admitted.
Through December 2024, CBP said more than 413,000 immigrants had scheduled appointments through the app, the large majority of whom were paroled into the country.
Trump said he would make good on his promise to do away with the Biden administration ’s CBP One app.

“As President I will immediately end the migrant invasion of America. We will stop all migrant flights, end all illegal entries, terminate the Kamala phone app for smuggling illegals ( CBP One App ), revoke deportation immunity, suspend refugee resettlement, and return Kamala’s illegal migrants to their home countries ( also known as remigration ), ” Trump wrote in a post to X on Sept. 15.
Doing away with the app could also prompt more people to rush to the border in the short term, hoping to get an appointment on the long wait list, according to Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, senior fellow at the American Immigration Council in Washington.
