Eric Adams revealed to show host Tucker Carlson that advisers to former President Joe Biden told the New York president that he should just “be a good Democrat ” over concerns about how illegal immigration was affecting the area.
Carlson asked Adams what Biden and his advisers told the president when he informed them about the consequences of illegal immigration on New York, to which Adams responded, “Be a fine Democrat, Eric, ” prompting Carlson to restate the solution in amazement.

The demo for Carlson’s meeting with Adams even showed the governor reflecting on persons telling him, “You don’t noise like a Democrat, ” and that it felt as if he had left the Democratic Party. But, Adams argued that “the group left me” and left behind the working class.
Last month, debate grew over the possibility of Adams joining the Republican Party, as he claimed that he was “part of the American group. ” Adams pushed back against this idea in a press conference, saying he was still a “true-blue ” Democrat while also being a “true blue-collar ” worker.
Carlson’s full meeting with the New York president will be uploaded to X on Tuesday night.

Adams accepted a last-minute invitation to attend Trump’s opening on Monday, claiming he did so to demonstrate how critical he is about helping his town with the national government’s help. The mayor added that Trump “loves ” New York and that he intends to collaborate with the new president to ensure that the city is safe.
The governor was indicted on five matters, ranging from corruption to request of a commitment by a foreign nationwide, last year, to which he has speculated with talk show host Dr. Phil that “something is just not right ” about these indictments. Adams insisted that he did not discuss his legal troubles with Trump during a recent visit to Mar-a-Lago, though Trump stated in December 2024 that he would “certainly ” consider pardoning the mayor.
