NBC News dropped a last-minute reach item aimed at tanking Pete Hegseth’s defence minister election on Tuesday— and it ’s also dumber and more insipid than you’d expect.
In their pathetic excuse for “journalism, ” authors Julie Tsirkin, Sarah Fitzpatrick, and Courtney Kube detail an affidavit that senators reportedly received on Tuesday from Danielle Hegseth, Pete’s former sister-in-law. According to these so-called “reporters, ” Danielle— whom Hegseth’s attorney maintains is an “anti-Trump far left Democrat ” — alleged that Hegseth engaged in “behavior [that ] caused his second wife to fear for her safety. ”
“Danielle describes in the petition claims of dangerous and menacing conduct by Hegseth that made his second wife, Samantha Hegseth, anxiety for her safety, ” the statement reads.
Hegseth’s election was advanced by the Senate Armed Services Committee on Monday and may possibly be considered by the whole Senate after this year. The ballot came a year after Hegseth’s confirmation hearing before the council, which earned him support from various on-the-fence Democrats.
Danielle’s claims surely good disturbing — that is, until you start reading the rest of NBC ’s knife work.
Not until the article’s seventh paragraph are visitors provided Samantha’s reaction to Danielle’s unfounded claims. While maintaining that she has never “asked anyone to share or speak about the details of [her ] marriage [to Hegseth ] on [her ] behalf, ” Samantha subsequently stated, “ I do not believe your information to be accurate, and I have cc’d my lawyer. ”
“There was no real abuse in my relationship. This is the only further speech I may make to you, I have let you know that I am not speaking and will not talk on my relationship to Pete. Please respect this decision, ” Samantha said when pressed by the outlet about what information was n’t accurate.
Got that? The person whom NBC reported as having been the purported target of reported “volatile and menacing conduct” by Hegseth is saying the claims aren’t correct.
If that was n’t damning enough, the writers admitted some passages after that “[b]oth Pete Hegseth and Samantha Hegseth signed a 2021 judge report that said neither family claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. ”
So, why was this very important details buried deep in the article after notes from a Democrat lawmaker opposed to Hegseth’s election? And why is this whole debacle perhaps a story?
The answer to those questions rests in the fact that — contrary to its name — NBC News is not a “news ” organization. It’s a communist propaganda device whose only purpose is to enhance the Democrat Party plan by engaging in lies, fraud, and slander.
In the same spirit, Tsirkin, Fitzpatrick, and Kube aren’t real editors. They’re left-wing democratic protesters trying ever so hard to confuse Americans into believing they’re modern-day versions of Mary Richards. But unlike the imaginary personality, they have no sense of decorum or civility to protect.
This latest struck part holds the same function as those that have come before it: to drop Hegseth’s assurance and avoid a activist from leading the Pentagon.
Republicans have an obligation to reject these disgusting tactics and support Hegseth’s nomination. Those who give credence to the legacy media smear machine are a disgrace and simply undeserving of public office.
