US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he will “immediately” released the classified records related to the killings of President Kennedy and civic rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
“I’m going to release them quickly. We’re going to see the details. We are looking at it right then, ” Trump said in an interview with Fox News ’ Sean Hannity.
Trump, who sworn-in as the 47th President on Monday, recalled his past expression could not launch some documents related to Kennedy ’s 1963 death, bowing to pressure from the intelligence community who urged Trump to keep the information under covers citing national security issues.
Trump said Wednesday that Mike Pompeo who served as CIA producer and, eventually, Secretary of State was among those who urged him to keep some records classified.
“ He ( Mike Pompeo ) felt it was just not a good time to release them, ” Trump said.
