Following claims that the Duke of Sussex perhaps had lied about using illegal drugs while immigrating from the UK, a conservative think tank called the Heritage Foundation is demanding that President Trump transfer Prince Harry‘s immigration report.
In his 2023 autobiography,” Spare”, Harry confessed to using heroin, cannabis, and kaleidoscopic vegetables. Application for visas or alternative cards usually requires that applicants disclose their history of drug use, and they could face severe penalties, including elimination, if they are deceived.
Nevertheless, a federal judge ruled against the publication of the king’s program papers next year. The Heritage Foundation’s members are now requesting that the president intervene in order to release these information. The president does indeed have the legal authority to transfer Prince Harry’s immigration documents, according to Nile Gardiner, director of Heritage’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom.
” It’s important because this is an issue of the rule of law, transparency and accountability. No one should be above the law”, Gardiner told The New York Post on Wednesday. You know Prince Harry should be held fully accountable because he has admitted to using illegal drugs, but Donald Trump is ushering in a new age of stringent border control protection, he said. ” I firmly anticipate that action will be taken.”
In order to find out whether Harry made false statements about using drugs, the Heritage Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) in February of last year.
In his autobiography, Harry admitted to trying heroin for the first time as a 17-year-old” to feel unique” following the death of his mother, Princess Diana. He also disclosed that he has since consumed more heroin.
Trump said in March 2024 that he would “have to view” if DHS was conscious of the entrance, which was revealed times after Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, settled in Montecito, California, with their kids in January 2020. ” If they know something about the medication, and if he lied, they’ll have to take suitable motion”, Trump promised at the time.
But, in September, DC US District Judge Carl Nichols sided with the DHS, stating,” The government does not have a strong interest in reporting of the king’s immigration information”.
Samuel Dewey, a lawyer for the history, moved to overturn the decision in a second action in October, claiming that the public’s knowledge of the immigration file will be improved by allowing the public to learn about how the Department operates and how its officials exercise discretion.
Gardiner even questioned whether Harry and Meghan had received” special cure” for their liberal democratic advocacy, noting that in 2023, their Archewell Foundation donated$ 250, 000 to second daughter Ashley Biden’s Philadelphia-based volunteer for people affected by stress.
Harry’s alleged misrepresentations are doubted by some former federal immigration officials, who noted that it’s unlikely that he was directly asked about using drugs when applying for a visa and that a waiver would likely eliminate any significant errors.
