It’s all the rage these days to stop using La plans. According to a Washington Post article from earlier this year,” President Donald Trump “attacked” the federal government’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives on Tuesday, ordering people to be put on leave by Wednesday and for DEI practices to be shut over,” according to a memo from the Office of Personnel Management.  ,

But it’s not just the federal government. In November, I wrote about Walmart’s plans to change its La laws, and our own Rick Moran wrote earlier this month about how McDonald’s is making significant adjustments. Another multinational companies, including Amazon, Meta, Ford, Lowe’s, John Deere, Tractor Supply, and Harley-Davidson, are making similar techniques. Perhaps the top universities are acing this trend.
Well, it appears that the most woke stores have suddenly recognized the impact of these programs on business and society in common.  ,
Splitting: Target is abolishing its La programs. The bricks are beginning to fall. h/t @lizcollin photograph. twitter.com/gkuyaFVT2Q— Christopher F. Rufo ⚔ ️ ( @realchrisrufo ) January 24, 2025
According to CNBC,” In a letter sent to its employees, Target]said ] it will stop its three-year DEI goals, prevent reports to outside groups like the Human Rights Campaign’s Business Equality Index and finish a program focused on carrying more items from Black- or minority-owned companies”.
The letter, which was written by Kiera Fernandez, the retail chain’s general group effects and collateral official ( is that even a real work? ) officially stated:  ,
Many years of data, perspectives, listening and learning have been shaping this next book in our approach. And as a shop that serves millions of customers each day, we are aware of the importance of adapting to the changing external environment both now and in the future in order to help drive Target’s expansion and success together.  ,

Additionally, activist Robby Starbuck claims that Target won’t sell Pride merchandise to children going forth. This was not stated in their statement today, but it was confirmed to me by a Target representative via phone today. He added that the shop employs over 415, 000 people, and that” this won’t just make a healthier environment for people who will have a negative work without feeling that issues are being injected,” as well as for their numerous providers, who will no longer feel pressure to support these guidelines.  ,  ,
Many people are a little skeptical about this, and they are rightfully so, because they have been boycotting the store because of its woke policies.  ,
I will NOT be going to Target for shopping. I’ll never forget seeing trans children’s clothing in the store.

In December, I wrote an article for our VIP members that said,” In 2016, the company announced on its website that it would allow transgender employees and customers to use the bathroom associated with the gender they identified with, causing backlash. The retailer is also a big supporter of Pride Month, but last summer it went a little overboard, advertising and selling items like a trans woman’s “tuck wear” bathing suits with a pouch so that men could tuck their genitalia out of sight, as well as gay pride and trans pride clothing for children and adults.  ,

Not coincidentally, Target also predicted that it would experience subpar holiday sales in 2024, when stores like Walmart and TJX were actually anticipating growth in. Last week, CNBC reported that” Target says its holiday sales were better than expected — but its profits weren’t”, even though it cut prices on about 10, 000 items. It’ll be interesting to see if this new way forward has an impact, or if it’s too little, too late.  ,
