Donald Trump, the president of the US, stated that he and King Abdullah II of Jordan have thought about moving more than one million Palestinians from Gaza to adjacent countries.
” I said to him that I’d like you to take on more, because I’m looking at the whole Gaza Strip correctly then and it’s a disaster, it’s a real clutter”, Trump said.
However, the phone talk was confirmed by Jordan’s state news agency Petra, which did not mention any discussions of moving Palestinians. Now, Jordan hosts more than 2.39 million registered Arab migrants, according to UN numbers.
Trump expressed interest in accommodating displaced persons from the war-torn place in both Jordan and Egypt. He mentioned strategies to speak with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi the day before.
“You’re talking about a million and a half individuals, and we just clean out that entire thing”, Trump said, adding that there have been centuries-long problems in the region.
” I don’t recognize, something has to happen, but it’s actually a dismantling page right now. I’d rather get involved with some of the Muslim countries and build housing there where I think they could perhaps live peacefully for a change, he said. About everything has been destroyed and people are dying it.
Trump claimed that the proposed cover improvements could be used for either momentary or long-term purposes.
This stance is a significant change from the conventional US diplomatic stances, which have continuously supported a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.
