Over a telephone call, US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke about the diplomatic relations and “agreed to join immediately.”
According to a Downing Street spokesman, the UK prime minister congratulated the president on his opening and acknowledged his “role in securing the landmark peace and victims deal in Gaza.”
Conversations were also had about shared security attempts in the Middle East, as well as business and economics issues. Starmer gave an outline of his plans for deregulating the UK economy to encourage growth, and the senator praised the Royal Family for its “respect and love for the Royal Family.”
Trump had earlier said he had a good opinion of the UK prime minister and that despite their philosophical differences, they have a good relationship.
He claimed that despite Keir calling himself “liberal, which is a little different from me,” he and Starmer “get on well.”
