Darren Beattie, a former staffer for Donald Trump and liberal critic, has been appointed to lead the US state district’s public diplomacy work under the Trump presidency. In a text to Revolver readers, a traditional website to which he has contributed, Beattie confirmed his interview.
The MAGA thinker will be the standing director of position for international relations. It is questionable if he will be officially nominated for the place, which would involve Senate confirmation.
Thrown over attending White separatist meeting
Beattie formerly served as a ghostwriter for the White House, but he was fired after it became known that he had spoken at a convention attended by white nationalists during the Trump administration. Since then, he has consistently backed Trump and has voiced strong opinions about competition and US international policy.
” Kudos to President Trump’s wonderful success, we have entered the beginning of a new Golden Age — of success, happiness, legitimacy, and responsibilities. I have been given the great pride of serving once again in Trump’s presidency, this day in the Department of State”, Beattie wrote in his message to Revolver users, announcing his leave of absence from the page.
Past disputes
After resigning from office, Beattie founded the right-wing internet outlet Revolver News. The store has supported false allegations about the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, including claims that federal authorities were involved in the planning of the strike and had control over the organizations that participated, including claims that they had influence over radical groups.
Beattie’s statements on social media have also drawn interest. He wrote on X on October 4, 2024, that” capable white men must be in demand if things go.” However, our whole national philosophy is predicated on coddling the emotions of people and minorities, and demoralizing qualified light men”.
After she opposed a monument to Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general and early Ku Klux Klan leader, in Tennessee’s Capitol in 2020, Beattie tweeted a tweet attacking Taylor Swift. He compared her advocacy to performing sexual favors for music producers in his post.
In some ways, he wrote,” That celebrities are required to debase themselves with such statements is even more humiliating than the physical favors they are required to perform for their producers.”
His appointment has been a subject of discussion for a while within the US state department, according to AP news agency.
Role and responsibilities
As acting undersecretary of state for public diplomacy, Beattie will oversee the department’s global outreach and communication efforts, including messaging handled by US embassies and consulates. The position is viewed as influential within the department despite previous holders of the position maintaining a low profile.
