In a nonpartisan voting, the U. S. Senate voted on Tuesday to ensure former Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., as the next director of Veterans Affairs. The last vote was 77-23.

Prior to Tuesday’s verification vote, Collins enjoyed common bipartisan support. His nomination was advanced ( 18-1 ) to the full floor by the Senate Veterans ‘ Affairs Committee on Jan. 23, with the lone opposition vote coming from Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii.
Next week, the Senate voted 83-13 to cite cloture for his candidacy.
Despite receiving support from Democrats, Collins ‘ election reading was anything but a cake. A number of the agency’s communist members made it possible for the event to become a spectacle that featured the use of federal tax dollars to pay for the murder of unborn children.
Hirono and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who questioned Collins on whether he plans to repeal a policy from the Biden era that allows the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA ) to “provide access to abortion counseling and — in some cases — abortions to pregnant Veterans and VA beneficiaries, raised concerns about Collins. State prosecutors general , and , members , of Congress , have argued the law violates federal laws.
The plan was one of several , anti-life , steps the VA undertook during Joe Biden’s president.
When confirmed to lead the bureau, Collins repeatedly stated that he intends to examine the propriety of the policy. In response to a problem from Hirono, Collins said,” My … position is based in the law, and I will follow the law in this regard”.

The firm tasked with taking care of America’s soldiers was engulfed in , controversy , last year after it was revealed VA people were processing health care promises for illegal aliens. Additionally, the department was investigated for issuing a letter instructing all VA officials to replace the classic “V-J Time in Times Square” picture from all VA facilities because of an alleged lack of “inclusivity.” The letter was eventually voided following a lot of public outcry.
