Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, known as Aga Khan IV, has passed away at the age of 88. He was a well-known Ismaili Muslim religious leader and influential president in generosity and business.
According to a declaration from the Aga Khan Development Network and the Ismaili spiritual group, Khan passed away on Tuesday in Portugal surrounded by his family.
His cremation will take place in Lisbon. His son has been named in his will, which will be read in front of family and religious leaders before the label is made public.
Leadership and philanthropy
Aga Khan IV was born on 13 December 1936 in Creux-de-Genthod, Switzerland, and became the 49th congenital Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims in 1957 at the age of 20 while he was an academic at Harvard University.
