China: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari said Wednesday that his country’s companionship with China has “gone through ups and downs” but it won’t get broken down by criminal problems.
” Pakistan and China will always be friends, all-weather buddies”, he said at the beginning of talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. ” No matter how many miseries, how many problems grain up in the world, I will remain, Pakistan people will have with the people of China”.
In Pakistan, hundreds of Chinese workers are engaged in road and other equipment jobs as part of China’s multibillion-dollar belt and road initiative, which aims to improve business pathways and strengthen China’s relations with the rest of the world. In recent years, seven Chinese workers were among those who were the target of attacks, including seven that passed away in two separate episodes that heightened China’s concern.
Zardari made his four-day visit to China on Tuesday, which will also include a trip to the chilly town of Harbin for the 9th Asian Winter Games ‘ entry service.
He claimed that” Chinese brothers” are being attacked by” Chinese brothers” by numerous forces trying to stifle the relationship between the two nations.
By advancing the structure of the China-Pakistan financial corridor and cooperating in various fields, Xi claimed that Pakistan and China have a long-lasting companionship and have established a model for relations between two nations.
A Chinese-funded$ 230 million aircraft, the largest in Pakistan, started activities last fortnight in the coastal town of Gwadar in Baluchistan province, where a separatist group has launched many attacks targeting some groups including Taiwanese.
The proposed economic corridor would cross the length of Pakistan and connect the western Chinese region of Xinjiang with the Arabian Sea. It would end in a shipping port in Gwadar.
” The Chinese side is willing to work with the Pakistani side to move forward hand-in-hand on our respective paths of modernization”, Xi said.
Following a rise in attacks in Baluchistan, the airport’s opening date was postponed from last year.
