The most prevalent argument made by those who support the United States Agency for International Development ( USAID ) is that the grant funds themselves represent only a small percentage of the federal budget, or less than one percent! The explanation is that even if the Trump administration completely abolished USAID, it doesn’t significantly reduce the deficit or help to manage the country’s debt. Everyone from the talking faces at CNN and MSNBC to , Jim Geraghty at National Review , are repeating this series.
However, the purpose of this exercise isn’t definitely to reduce the gap and the federal budget. The purpose is to shut down USAID and highlight it for its left-wing misinformation and regime-changing activities. In the six decades since it was established, USAID has gone from fighting hunger, spreading National ideals, and undercut Russian misinformation, to becoming a woke advertising activity of its own that constantly undermines the pillars of western culture. It’s gone from exporting politics to exporting deviancy, and it’s time to shut it down.
Elon Musk and Marco Rubio were given the task of reviewing the company’s offers and expenses by President Trump this week, which has already revealed much needed insight into the direction that tens of billions of tax dollars are going. My partner Tristan Justice , detailed , a handful of some of the most stupid projects USAID funds, including”$ 70, 000 for a’ DEI music’ in Ireland,$ 47, 000 for a’ trans theater’ in Colombia,$ 32, 000 for a’ trans graphic book’ in Peru, and$ 1.5 million for an Gay jobs program in Serbia”. Different projects were to account electric cars in Vietnam, facilities in Egypt, foods for Al-Qaeda jihadists in Syria, and , internet censorship in the United Kingdom.
One unnamed X customer, @DataRepublican, created a , searchable databases of national government grants , that’s helped uncover yet more ridiculous projects funded by USAID. Some of these are genuinely funny and simple to mock. For example, a$ 30 million grant for an organization that funds  , women making ponchos in the Guatemalan highlands , and bankrolls” community organizing” in Burkina Faso. Or a$ 20 million grant for a Sesame Street-style show in Iraq, a$ 2 million grant to promote pottery in Morocco, and$ 15 million for condoms and contraceptives in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
Many of these grants have a common thread: they promote the promotion of democracy abroad, promote LGBTQ, green, and woke ideologies. What started out in 1961 as a tool to encourage stability and entice nations out of Soviet orbit during the Cold War has since evolved into a tool of propaganda aimed at the foundations of western civilization. Everywhere you look in the USAID database, you see projects promoting LGBTQ ideology, mass immigration, multiculturalism, DEI, climate change-ism, and the like. You see programs that denigrate the traditional family, support anti-free speech censorship, and attempt to make the United States ‘ urban liberal enclaves look different from each other.
Even more alarming, a significant portion of USAID funds appear to be nothing more than sinecures for connected establishment politicians in the U. S. The person who built the database, @DataRepublican,  , revealed , that huge amounts of taxpayer dollars, through both the State Department and USAID ( the former operating as a passthrough to the latter ), go to NGOs stacked with establishment politicians from both parties — basically, the Washington uniparty.
As I write this, crowds of pro-USAID protesters, egged on by Democrat politicians, are gathering in Washington, D. C., to demand the arrest of Elon Musk and the shutdown of the Senate. In what amounts to a massive ongoing grift, thousands of organizations in and around our nation’s capital are entirely or almost entirely funded by USAID grants. Losing those funds simply means that their NGOs will shut down.
And fold they should. What started as a State Department agency during the Cold War to promote freedom and stability abroad has devolved into a scam that uses taxpayers ‘ money to use it to fund the demise of the country and the demise of its founding principles, as perhaps it was going to.
Every penny saved is worth it, so it doesn’t matter how much money we can save by shutting down USAID; instead, it matters that left-wing NGOs are starved of the funds they use to spread toxic anti-American ideologies around the world, and that the Trump administration shows that it can shut down executive branch initiatives and organizations that don’t align with White House priorities.
Democrats ‘ criticism of this is evidence that they don’t believe a Republican administration should be able to overtake the administrative bureaucracy, according to their admission. They believe that it belongs to them and their favorite activists and NGOs, who have used it for decades to psychologically oppress the world. That is over, and if that means the women who make ponchos in the Guatemalan highlands will have to find another source of funding, or the transgender comic books never are made, then that is fine.
