Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, and Liz Cheney, a former US representative, exchanged remarks on social media about Cheney’s prior affiliation with the US Agency for International Development ( USAID ).
Driving the announcement
The change began when Musk shared a blog from Mike Benz, the executive producer of the groundwork for liberty electronically, saying,” Liz Cheney, who led Trump’s impeachment and the mass imprisonment campaign against thousands of Trump supporters, was spawned out of USAID”. Musk responded to the article with a one-word effect:” Interesting”.
In reply, Cheney addressed Musk immediately, writing,” Damn straight, Elon. I’m glad of what America did to get the Cold War, fight Soviet communism, and defend democracy. Our society stood for independence. Since you weren’t already an American citizen, you might not be familiar with that period of our past.
Eventually, Benz made another article quoting Cheney’s words:” ‘ Damn proper I was spawned out of USAID ‘- Liz Cheney”. Is then reshared it, adding,” No kidding”.
Why it concerns
Elon Musk informed Liz Cheney about her earlier function with the USAID, and she responded with her response. The company has been in the media just following the Trump administration’s decision to cut up on its functions.
Founded in 1961, USAID has been involved in addressing diseases, combating global food uncertainty, funding knowledge, and contributing significantly to US foreign policy.
This week, the company announced that most of its strong hire employees may be placed on administrative leave, except for those in important roles, primary leadership positions, and particular programs.
