On Wednesday, National Girls &, Women in Sports Day, President Trump signed the” Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” professional attempt to “protect options for women and girls to engage in safe and honest activities”. This decree restores Title IX’s initial intention, which was to preserve true equality in women’s sports by allowing only women to compete and certainly men who claim to be women.

In a Thursday morning segment on CNN, the network’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, was bizarrely surprised at the overwhelming opposition to male athletes ( whom he erroneously called” transgender female” athletes ) participating in women’s sports. It’s almost hilarious to watch his shock over what seems to be a common thought in the American people.
Enten began with a remarkable data:” Only 18 % of the country says that they should be, in fact, allowed to participate in children’s athletics”, while a significant 79 % oppose gentlemen in women’s sports. Enten expressed surprise that for a sizable majority of people are present in a country that is frequently divided on problems. ” You rarely get 79 % of the country to agree on anything”, he pointed out as if this isn’t a reflection of basic logic and fairness.
He further delves into changes, pointing out that the criticism has grown tremendously. ” Back in 2021, it was 62 %”, he notes, implying that this was only a” clear majority”, albeit not a “ginormous majority”. Fast forward to 2025, and we see a 79 % increase in this percentage.  ,
Is it really so surprising that more people object to allowing natural males to compete against females the more they think it will change? As Enten himself observes,” It’s not just that the majority of Americans are opposed to transgender female]sic ] players in women’s sports. It’s that the criticism has grown significantly larger.

Diving deeper into the political sizes, Enten features that” when you get 79 % of Americans to believe on everything, you got to believe that it’s the bulk across all events”. However, this consensus cuts through political lines.
” So transgender female]sic ] athletes, again, opposing them in women’s sports, you get 67 % of Democrats, so two-thirds there”, Enten said. ” You get 64 % of politicians, you get about two-thirds there. And then — look at this — near uniformity among Republicans, 94 % of Republicans in opposition. You rarely get 67 % of Democrats and 94 % of Republicans to agree on anything, but they do on this particular issue”.

Enten was also taken aback by the strong opposition to allowing men to play women’s sports.
Republicans who are” highly want to ban trans female athletes from children’s activities” are 84 % more likely than Republicans who are” strongly opposed to deporting all immigrants who are here illegally. That only serves to demonstrate how powerful the Republican criticism is.
Why would he be surprised? The mere recognition of the physical benefits that male athletes enjoy in activities by the majority of people demonstrates a deep understanding of biology, which is not shaky or politically motivated.

I find it very urging that such a large majority of Americans however value justice, fairness, and a level playing field, values that are not particularly difficult to obtain in the field of women’s sports. Enten may be shocked by the discussion, but in reality, this opposition is a resounding call for popular feeling.
