After realizing that Venezuela’s aircraft had been acquired in contravention of US sanctions, the US seized it in September. Then the Donald Trump administration is planning to acquire a second aircraft belonging to Maduro’s state, a Dassault Falcon 200 that has been used by Maduro and top aides, information claimed. According to a US official with knowledge of the situation and a State Department report obtained by The Associated Press, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio plans to make the announcement on Thursday during his five-nation journey of Latin America, which will end in Santo Domingo. The aircraft is now located in the Dominican Republic.
This airplane has been used to travel the world including Greece, Turkey, Russia and Cuba– in breaches of US punishment, Washington said.
The plane was taken only one week after Richard Grenell, the president’s envoy for specific missions, traveled to Caracas and met with Maduro to explore the repatriation of Venezuelan citizens who illegally entered the country. Six Americans who had been detained in Venezuela were returned with Gregnell.
Ice exemption approved by management
A waiver demand for foreign aid would require Rubio to consent to the arrest of Maduro’s second helicopter and file a more than$ 230, 000 in storeroom and maintenance costs. It even required acceptance by the U. S. Department of Justice.
Rubio is scheduled to make the news at what the State Department has described as simply a “law enforcement engagement,” according to the AP report, after that request was approved and was later confirmed by the AP.
