On Friday, US President Donald Trump stated that he had instructed Elon Musk to examine the US Department of Defense’s proposed$ 850 billion budget for 2025.
” I’ve instructed him to come check out education, to check out the Pentagon, which is the defense. And you know, sadly, you’ll discover some issues that are very bad”, Trump informed writers at the White House when questioned about whether military investing was part of Musk’s cost-cutting plan.
” Pentagon, Education, just about everything. We’re going to get through everything”, he added.
Musk is the head of the commission whose goal is to lower government spending, the Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ).
Trump also addressed the controversy over whether Musk’s labor was restricted by his own restrictions and whether he had cheated on Democrats by calling DOGE’s activities a “power seize.”
” Well, we haven’t discussed that many. I’ll show him to go here, get it. He does it. He’s got a very worthy group of people, very, very, really, really capable”, Trump said.
” But, I’ve instructed him to go into Education, get into military move into other things as we go on. And they’re finding large volumes of fraud, abuse, spend, all of these things, thus. But I did get out a goal, and I say,’ proceed in.’ There could be places that we didn’t, but I think all rich”.
