Donald Trump, the president of the US, responded to a HuffPost writer’s question on Sunday, rather of hurling a punch at the store by suggesting he thought it had been shut down.
As Trump traveled to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX, the exchange took place aboard Air Force One.
HuffPost top White House editor SV Dáte inquired about a controversial remark made by Vice President JD Vance while Trump was speaking with the media.
The vice president suggested that the Supreme Court was simply impose its laws on themselves if you don’t like them. Do you believe with that”? the writer asked.
Trump brushed off the problem, responding,” I don’t hear yet what you’re talking about. Neither would you. Who are you with”?
When Dáte identified himself as a HuffPost writer, Trump quipped,” Oh, no question. I thought they died. Are they still about? I haven’t publish them in decades. I thought they died”.
Trump next moved on to other issues, ignoring the initial inquiry regarding Vance’s feedback.
The question made reference to a statement Vance made on social media regarding a recent court ruling that prevented Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) from using US Treasury Department payment systems. According to Vedance, the senior firm’s authority shouldn’t be overridden by federal judges.
” If a prosecutor tried to tell a basic how to conduct a military function, that would be illegal. If a prosecutor tried to control the attorney general in how to employ her judgment as a prosecutor, that’s even illegal. Courts aren’t allowed to handle the executive’s genuine power”, Vance posted.
Trump did not comment on Vance’s speech, alternatively taking the opportunity to insult HuffPost.
