BEIJING: Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign secretary,will visit Europe and the United States this month before attending a group of 20 meeting in South Africa, Beijing said on Monday.
As relations between the two nations appear to be warming, UK foreign minister David Lammy will number Wang in London this Thursday, the American authorities confirmed.
Beijing’s news comes after Wang’s US rival Marco Rubio said he would miss the G20 speaks over an “anti-American” plan.
Since taking office last quarter, US President Donald Trump has pulled his land out of a number of international organizations, including the UN human rights council and the world health organization.
Wang will travel to Germany for the G20 unusual officials ‘ conference on February 12 and 17, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, who gave a regular press conference on Monday.
Wang intends to use the G20 meeting to” send a powerful message to the outside world to support multilateralism”, Guo said.
” The G20 should encourage the spirit of partnership, work together to promote world economic development, guide global leadership in a more simply and fair way”, he added.
In Munich, Wang may” share China’s position on key global issues”, according to a distinct foreign government statement.
Wang will next head a UN security council occasion in New York on “practising internationalism, reforming and improving world governance”, according to the government.
During the London foot, Lammy and Wang” may discuss issues of vital importance to both nations ‘ interests, including global security and Russia’s improper war in Ukraine”, a UK government spokesman said.
The two” will include topics ranging across the whole scope of the diplomatic relationship”, the official added.
Britain’s Labour state, elected in July, has set about improving ties with China that ruined in the final few years of the last Conservative management.
Lammy and Reeves, the finance minister, traveled to China next quarter, and Lammy, the president, went to Beijing in October.
At the G20 summit last November, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Keir Starmer had their first bilateral meeting since 2018, and they also had a conference.
