The Houston County , Sheriff’s Office , was nevertheless searching Tuesday for a suspect over a quarter after nine babies were shot on Christmas day in , Kathleen, prosecutors say, and a nearby nonprofit is trying to help a surviving dog recover.
Just one dog, named Brody, miraculously survived, according to , Jessica Gomez, chairman of Paws in , Middle Georgia. Paws is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue volunteer in , Warner Robins.
” While he was fine physically, emotionally was a very different account”, Gomez told , The Telegraph.

A gentleman heard what he thought were lights on Dixon Road after witnessing a violent look, and the incident was reported on Christmas.
” He drove up to see a metal dog kennel getting pushed off the side of an ( all-terrain vehicle ) and then they sped off”, Gomez said.
She thinks Brody was probably shielded underneath the people, so he probably survived without any real injuries.
The babies weren’t much, she said. They were probably five or six month old and kept in the box.
Eight kittens were found dead at the scene from bullet wounds, according to the sheriff’s office.
At the scene, officers discovered 11 shell shells and boots. The sheriff’s business” spoke to some people about it”, but there was not enough information to make an arrest however, Capt.  , Nate Noler , said Monday. The event was still under inspection.
A person connected to Paws in , Middle Georgia , was offering a$ 500 compensation for any recommendations that lead to an imprisonment, Gomez said.
The charity was accepting gifts in honor of the dying puppies and for Brody’s treatment work.
Brody’s treatment
Brody was frightened and in horror days after the incident, Gomez said.
He won’t be put up for adoption until he “learns how to respect people once more,” according to Gomez.
Gomez told The Telegraph that the man who found the puppies and reported the incident had immediately told him to adopt Brody, but just changed his mind because he was returning from active military service.
Warner Robins Animal Control , held Brody for four days after the incident, therefore gave him to Paws in , Middle Georgia. He spent a week with Gomez, and he now lives with a philanthropic health foster.
” He doesn’t make any effort to take, drink, go to the toilet, he doesn’t even look at you when you walked in the room”, Gomez said. ” He was completely shut down”.
About six weeks later, he presently runs around and plays in the heineken garden, which are big changes.
” He’s learned the happiness of products and is very food encouraged”, Gomez said, chuckling. ” If you have foods, he’ll find a way to get your best friend”.
While Brody has made great strides in his mental and social recuperation, he was far from available for adoption, according to Gomez.
” It probably won’t get anywhere immediately, only whenever he’s ready”, she said. ” It’s really going to depend on him warming up to people”.
Although people frequently make an effort to get rid of unnecessary litters, Gomez never heard of this tragedy.
” I do see needy people all the time trying to get rid of babies and animals, but never to this level of cruelty”, she said. Not that this may possibly justify something like this.
