MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell said Elon Musk humiliated President Donald Trump in more than one way at the Oval Office where he brought his four-year-old son X during a press conference where he took questions from the media. O’Donnell said bringing X was a power play by Elon Musk which established that he could do whatever he wanted in the room. Elon Musk also violated the dress code and appeared underdressed in a millionaire style rendering Donald Trump the most powerless in the room, the anchor noted. He also added that Elon Musk spoke 3,666 words while Trump said 2,487 words.
In his long rant against Elon Musk, O’Donnell said the photo of Elon Musk, his son X and Donald Trump will be remembered as “the most powerless image of a US president ever captured by a camera”.
“When Donald Trump is your boss, you don’t talk more than Donald Trump. In a business meeting with Donald Trump, Elon Musk spoke 3,666 words. Donald Trump spoke 2,487 words. Mike Pence never had a day like that in the Oval Office with Donald Trump. JD Vance will never have a day like that in the Oval Office with Donald Trump, because Donald Trump is the boss of JD Vance.”
O’Donnell said at the beginning of Elon Musk’s statement, he was briefly interrupted by X who was trying to repeat his words. At one point, X approached toward Donald Trump but Trump looked away. Earlier, when Donald Trump was interrupted by Elon Musk’s son when the president was speaking. “The child actually moves toward Donald Trump saying something to him. And Donald Trump turns away. And you watch the child back off knowing what just happened. What would Biden have done? What would Barack Obama have done?… Donald Trump turns away from a 4-year-old,” the anchor said comparing this to how Trump is the only president who is blocking food from starving children by stopping aids.
“One thing that Donald Trump always craved before he ran for president was the attention of the truly rich. Virtually all of them ignored Donald Trump as phoney rich and vulgar rich. And now Donald Trump has the attention of the richest person on the earth, the person who can literally bail him out of any financial difficulty,” O’Donnell said.
