The Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) had allocated$ 59 million in taxpayer funds to housing illegal immigrants in New York City hotels, and the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) has reclaimed it.
Secretary Noem has requested reimbursement for the entire sum of money that FEMA serious state activists formally awarded to NYC migratory hotels.
The Roosevelt Hotel, which serves as the Tren de Aragua base of operations and was funded by FEMA, was used to building Laken Riley’s criminal.

Following the dismissal of four FEMA staff the day before for authorizing the payment without the agency’s leadership’s acceptance, DHS took behavior on Wednesday. Tricia McLaughlin, DHS associate director,  , confirmed the choice on X, stating,” Secretary Noem has recovered the entire transaction that FEMA heavy state activists formally directed to NYC immigrant hotels”.
McLaughlin even pointed out that Jose Antonio Ibarra, a Colombian illegal immigrant who was convicted of killing Georgia medical student Laken Riley in February, had a connection to the Roosevelt Hotel, one of the sites that FEMA funded.
The Roosevelt Hotel, which serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to building Laken Riley’s killer, was funded by FEMA, according to McLaughlin. Not a one quarter will be spent on issues that threaten the health and rights of the American people.
Ibarra was found guilty of killing Riley in November and given a life sentence. His case resulted in bipartisan legislation that President Trump signed last month strengthening the country’s ability to prosecute illegal immigrants who have been arrested for theft and other acts before being deported.
Elon Musk, who oversees the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ), made the discovery public earlier this week when it first became public on X.

Following the discovery, DHS terminated FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, along with two plan experts and a offer consultant, according to an organization director.
