According to the New York Post, a family shot her four sons before turning the gun on herself in Wyoming’s Big Horn County, leaving three dying and one in critical condition, according to authorities.
On Monday evening, 32-year-old Tranyelle Harshman called 911, telling operators that her sons had been shot inside their home. She called their locations before instantly halting the phone.
All four kids were discovered with gunshot wounds to the head when officers arrived. Additionally, Harshman was discovered with a scar that had been self-inflicted. When officers arrived, she was also intact but eventually passed away from her injuries.
Just one child, a 7-year-old woman, survived the killing and remains in critical condition at a Salt Lake City doctor. The other subjects, a 9-year-old and two 2-year-old twins, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to MTN News.
Officials are still investigating what led to the deaths, but Harshman’s father, Cliff Harshman, revealed that she had been struggling with severe mental health issues, including PTSD and postpartum depression.
” My wife is never a monster”, he told Cowboy State Daily, breaking down in tears. The majority of people don’t realize how that affects the brain. It’s a chemistry imbalance, and trying to fix it with drugs may make it worse.
Cliff Harshman, the natural father of the two youngest subjects, had also been helping boost the older two. He is then left to take care of his surviving girl as she fights for her career.
” Cliff Harshman, a loving husband and father of four beautiful girls, has suffered an unbelievable damage”, reads the fundraiser’s website.
Friends have started a charity to help pay for medical expenses in the wake of the drama.
