President Donald Trump has quickly delivered on some campaign promises since taking office in his first day in office. He has appointed Elon Musk to help combat misuse and abuse in our federal authorities, as well as executive orders to stop the foreign war at our southern boundary and to end prejudiced La laws.
These are solid liberal reforms worth celebrating. But, Washington, D. C., isn’t the only marsh that needs draining. There are 50 marshes in the 50 state cities, and they are spiraling out of control. This should be alarming to all of us given subsequent events that have occurred.
Texas is the most obvious illustration. Republicans now have control of the Texas State House, but RINO Republicans joined Democrats in a bid to install a progressive Democrat as speaker. The rules deal they just passed gives Democrats power and was intended to obstruct liberal changes.
Liberal Republicans in Florida, including State House Speaker Daniel Perez, expressly oppose Governor Ron DeSantis ‘ plan to implement strict immigration protection measures. DeSantis is attempting to delegate his authority to the democratic Republican Commissioner of Agriculture, who has recently supported pilot’s licenses and in-state education for illegal aliens.
These techniques are daring, but they pale in comparison to the activities of Georgia House Speaker Rep. Jon Burns. State Sen. Colton Moore was most recently detained for trying to attend the State of the State handle. Moore’s” murder”? speaking out against the actions of a previous residence listener who recently passed away. Moore was also actually assaulted by the speaker’s lawyer. However, Burns is helping Gov. The largest funds in Georgia position history was passed by Brian Kemp. Imagine that — while Trump is advocating for big spending breaks, the Atlanta” Democrat” Swamp is pushing for bigger, more aggressive state.
Liberal Republicans in charge of the State House in South Carolina have given Democrats committee chairmanships and passed laws to restrict liberal reforms supported by the South Carolina Freedom Caucus. Prior to this, the Columbia Swamp had the power to expel the SC Freedom Caucus from the House GOP Caucus for officially supporting strong conservative laws.
In blue state as well, there is Muddy Democratic administration. Republican Minority Leader Rep. Tony McCombie in Illinois was sworn in as the party’s representative because they opposed liberal reforms that interfered with her ability to collect money from the Democratic supermajority. As a” Republican”, she supported green energy bills, voted to give illegal immigrants free legal counsel, and took money from the teachers ‘ union.
These are just a couple instances of Republicans ignoring Trump’s authority to prevent state weaponization. Even worse, citizens have vehemently opposed these marshy techniques in state elections as well, both at the national level and in state elections. By promoting liberal reforms like lower taxes, free speech, and the dismissal of woke guidelines, dozens of first-time candidates for office won state office. Even better, long-serving Democratic incumbents were defeated because voters perceived them as progressive Democrats who sported Republican smears. 14 liberal Republicans lost their seats in South Dakota primarily as a result of their help for a specific interest pipeline task that used eminent domain to seize personal property.
That’s great information. However, the good news is that every moment hundreds of powerful conservative state lawmakers fight the Swamp. In their condition capitols, three state freedom caucuses are lively, engaging in public battling with the establishment. In state without freedom primaries, adult politicians are taking on the Goliath-like establishment only. People like Texas State Reps. Brian Harrison and Nate Schatzline have called out the crooked progressive Texas Speaker, Dustin Burrows, and his friends. The only House Republican to oppose the asylum act introduced by the Florida State representative was Mike Caruso, a state representative from Florida.
We are at a critical time in our nation’s story. To significantly reduce the size and scope of the federal government, President Trump has four decades to implement radical changes. But voters must be vigilant against the 50 state-level marshes. Liberal lawmakers are on the front lines, doing the heavy pulling, but they need our help and protection. The conflict is not finished.
The State Freedom Caucus Network’s leader is Andrew Roth.
