Gov. Governor Newsom (D-CA ) announced his intention to veto a bill in California that would stifle state prison officials ‘ interaction with immigration and customs enforcement. &nbsp,

According to a Politico report, Newsom claimed that California’s” sanctuary” regulation is the best course of action to strike a balance between establishing trust with immigrant communities and allowing the federal government the authority to arrest undocumented criminals who are imprisoned. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice was suing Illinois and New York for their temple legislation as a result.

A Newsom spokesman confirmed that if Assembly Bill 15 is passed, he will vote against it. Last month, Newsom vetoed a comparable costs.

Assembly Bill 15, which was introduced by a Democrat, would expand the” sanctuary” law, SB 54, to include the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

The condition prison system can collaborate with ICE to take custody of those who have already served their sentences for a criminal. According to express information, since Newsom took office in 2019, California’s penitentiary system has coordinated with ICE on transferring around 10, 600 residents into federal prison.

Newsom argues that California’s prison program should keep a tight lid on communication with federal immigration enforcement to prevent ICE agents from interrogating illegal immigrants as they enter prison and are about to expire.

According to Newsom, “ICE will decide how to carry out its enforcement of national law.”

Related to Newsom, Gov. &nbsp, Maura Healey&nbsp, (D-MA ) said she supports the “apprehension of criminals” in the state.

The Department of Motor Vehicles is suing New York for violating its” Green Light Law,” which forbids it from sharing data with federal law enforcement officers about noncitizens. Illinois is the subject of a similar complaint filed in Illinois for its Method Forward Act, TRUST Act, Welcoming City Act, and local legislation that restricts the Chicago Police Department’s relations with ICE.

California’s sanctuary standing survived legal issues from the first Trump presidency.
