Pete Hegseth, the US’s defense minister, reaffirmed that everyone should work together to improve NATO and that America would not be viewed as” s**kers.”
At Nato’s Brussels office on Thursday, Hegseth said,” Make no mistake, President Trump will never allow people to switch Uncle Sam into Uncle S**ker”.
He emphasized Trump’s repeated claim that Western allies needed to increase their financial aid for the alliance.
“NATO is a great empire, the most effective protection alliance in background, but to accept for the future our partners may do far more for Europe’s defense. We must create NATO great again”, Hegseth even said. He added,” We can talk all we want about values”.
” Norms are important… But you didn’t capture values. You can’t take colors. And you didn’t shoot powerful remarks. There is no substitute for hard strength”, he added.
The new Pentagon head stated at the press event that the US President had put a premium on enhanced German defense spending. He refrained from making claims that Trump did hold negotiations with Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin from any place other than that one.
He claimed that Trump had the credentials necessary to stifle peace talks between Putin and Zelenskyy, with an emphasis on preventing deaths while ensuring Western support.
On Wednesday, Hegseth ruled out Ukraine’s NATO membership, a place Trump endorsed during the swearing-in service for his Director of National Intelligence, previous Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
When questioned about the Pentagon leader’s analysis of Ukraine’s NATO account being’ improbable or impractical’, Trump confirmed his contract. ” They’ve been saying that for decades, that Ukraine cannot go into NATO, and I’m OK with that”, Trump said, expressing his wish for the war finish.
