The Dallas Police Department’s time chief, Michael Igo, stated this week that his officers would not be working with ICE or any other governmental agencies to remove illegal residents from his town.  ,
Igo made the commitment at a gathering on Wednesday at the Familia Bethel Internacional church. The DPD has scheduled five community outreach sessions for the first time this month, with residents in Dallas protesting frequently and calling for ICE persecution. The five sessions are intended to convince those without legal position that no arrests or attacks may be carried out in hospitals, schools, or churches, and to urge against “underreporting of crimes due to fear” of being reported to ICE.  ,
” I need you men to continue to call the authorities, to not be reluctant to come out of your properties to go to work, to take our children to school”, Igo said.  ,
” There’s no room for anxiety in our community”, the police chief continued in a blog to X Wednesday night. ” I’m meeting with participants in Dallas to let them know that we’re here to serve and defend all Dallas people and are committed to enforcing area legislation and state laws.”
The DPD has announced it will prolong a similar collecting scheduled for Thursday in response to the reaction from the Wednesday conference.
The DPD’s support for ICE comes as a strong rebuke to the Texas president’s push to support immigration officials ‘ efforts to expel illegal immigrants from the nation. Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX ), who met with border czar Tom Homan and president Donald Trump earlier this month, applauded the new administration’s toughened border policies. Abbott at the time offered to use 4, 000 jail cell as momentary detention facilities as well as two military bases in his position to building detained illegal immigrants.  ,
Abbott stated that the government is really trying to find ways to finally secure our border.  ,
Abbott also gave position officers the authority to assist ICE in detaining 5,400 illegal immigrants in Texas who have an arrest warrant earlier this month.
” I have authorized our Texas National Guard, which has been stationed at the frontier for about four times.” They have been deputized to support ICE, doing anything ICE would do, for as arresting, arresting, and deporting”, the governor said during a Fox News meeting early this month. ICE field offices across the nation have reportedly been instructed to work toward a daily arrest goal of 75. On Jan. 26, the Dallas field office confirmed it had made 84 arrests during targeted operations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Garland, and Collin County, including illegal immigrants charged or convicted of crimes of a sexual nature against children.
