TEHRAN: Iran on Monday condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s visit to “finish the job” against the Islamic nation as a violation of the UN Charter.
Israel” doesn’t do a point” against Iran, according to foreign ministry official Esmaeil Baqaei, adding that “terrorizing people is both a total violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.”
Netanyahu and Marco Rubio, a visiting US secretary of state, told a press conference in Jerusalem on Sunday that Israel had “finish the job” against Iran with the support of its major ally the United States.
Netanyahu even said Israel had “dealt a mighty blow to Iran’s evil axis” during the past 16 months.
Over that time, Israel has engaged in problems with Iran-backed organizations, including Arab insurgents Hamas in Gaza, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Yemen’s Huthi insurgents.
These organizations are a part of what Iran refers to as its” shaft of resistance,” a network of regional extremists who are united with the Palestinians in cooperation with Israel.
US President Donald Trump, who returned to the White House in January, has reinstated a “maximum force” legislation against Iran, mirroring his view during his first word.
In accordance with this scheme, the United States formally withdrew from Iran’s 2015 nuclear agreement and accused Tehran of pursuing nuclear weapons.
Iran has consistently refuted these accusations, despite having reduced its obligations under the contract and increased uranium advancement to 60 %.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared on Sunday that Iran would never have nuclear weapons, calling the Islamist state the “greatest” source of instability in the Middle East.
Baqaei stressed Tehran’s devotion to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and said Iran’s nuclear activities are in line with the UN nuclear agency’s safeguards method on Monday.
