On Wednesday, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and 33 people were formally accused of staging a coup after losing the 2022 elections.
” The charges… describe, in depth, the secretive story set up and executed against political organizations”, that was masterminded by Bolsonaro, a declaration from the attorney general’s office said.
Denying the claims, Bolsonaro said,” I have no worries about the charges, zero”.
” Have you seen the revolt order, by any chance? You haven’t. Neither had I”, he added.
In November, national authorities submitted an 884-page statement to attorney general Gonet outlining the system. The report claimed that there had been coordinated efforts to stifle the public’s confidence in the political system, write a decree to support the plot, and a riot in the capital as a result of pressure from senior military officers to support it.
