A bicycle criminal was flung off a stolen vehicle during a high-speed authorities fight in County Durham, according to Daily Mail. He received a dose of “instant karma.”
Ciaran Parker, 20, was racing through Pelton on a stolen Kawasaki 300 when officers signalled him to quit at around 10.30am on April 2 next year. Instead of pulling over, Parker—who was not wearing a helmet—sped off, hitting dangerous velocity of 60mph in a 30mph area.
Dashcam footage captured Parker hurtling across crossings, swerving onto the bad side of the road, and weaving through Chester-le-Street city centre. At one level, he veering off a vehicle before losing control and colliding with his car at 40 mph.
CCTV captured shocked spectators observing the collision from a variety of angles. As Parker and the vehicle slid toward them, a mother pulled her kids away immediately. A younger child was harmed by outside flying debris.
Officers approached Parker, who lay bleeding and crying out in pain, on bodycam images.
” I need some analgesics”! he sobbed, when fast adding,” Right, I know precisely what you’re gonna say, but I’ve just bought the f***ing vehicle man”!
An official responded,” Ciaran, at the moment I don’t worry less about that. What’s my top priority are any accidents you might have.
Parker had an empty bone in his right foot and had blood dripping down the back of his head. As doctors applied a bandage to his shattered arm, he screamed in agony:” I’m in a negative way around. My knee! My neck’s knacking”!
When asked by soldiers if he had taken medications, Parker denied it, shouting:” No man! Getting off my f***ing scalp”! However, tests after confirmed he had both cocaine and hemp in his system.
Stolen cycle and prison time
The Kawasaki was discovered at around 1.20 a.m. that morning when it was stolen from a Stanley house. Parker was charged with various offences, including burglary, aggravated car taking, unsafe driving, drug generating, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.
He was given a 14-month Young Offender Institution sentence after entering a guilty plea at Durham Crown Court.
In a police interview, Parker was shown footage of the crash. Cringing at the sight, he said,” I don’t even want to watch that”.
He added:” I bought that bike, you know”? before quickly shutting down the questioning with,” Aw listen – no comment. You’re wasting my time”.
Parker’s reckless riding, according to Detective Constable Michelle Leonard, might have resulted in tragedy.
” This was an incredibly dangerous piece of riding”, she said. He crashed his bike in the middle of a busy town center after riding recklessly at very high speeds through residential areas and frequently on the wrong side of the road. It is a miracle nobody was seriously injured or, worse, killed”.
DC Leonard welcomed Parker’s 14-month sentence, saying,” I hope it sends a clear message that driving dangerously, without a licence, and under the influence of drugs can have catastrophic consequences and that those who choose to do it will be brought to justice”.
