After the Department of Education threatened to cut off its federal funding, the left-wing National learning creation is clutching its jewels at the prospect of calling it quits. However, the Trump presidency is calling its hill.
Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Craig Trainor, the head of the Department of Education, told The Federalist,” The Department of Education will no longer help educational institutions to distinguish on the basis of contest.” ” This isn’t complicated. Every school should consult the legal test from [Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard ] in case of fear because it teaches that treating someone of one culture differently than it does treating someone of another culture because of that person’s race is against the law.
The Trump administration distributed a” Dear Colleague” text last Friday showing schools to shut down their La plans for training, teaching, and hiring or experience the loss of their federal funding. The memo draws inspiration from the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on affirmative action from SFFA to provide assistance for schools to stop their racially biased DEI initiatives that have” perniciously taught students with the false idea that the United States is built upon’systemic and architectural racism’ and advanced biased policies and practices.”
Further guidance on execution is expected, according to the Department of Education.
However, as The Federalist reported, The School Superintendents Association ( AASA ), which represents the leaders of school districts across the country, sent a memo to its members to ignore the guidance.
State Superintendent Michael Rice said he has no plans to get rid of the country’s controversial La development, but the overall state of Michigan appears to be ready to overlook the order right now.
” MDE continues to support variety in writing, comprehensive background instruction, and large recruitment to Grow Your Own programs for students and support staff to be educators”, Rice, who said the letter is under evaluation, told Newsweek. MDE disagrees that pre-K-12 programs that promote participation of all babies, regardless of race, and diversification representing all children, regardless of race essentially harm certain groups of children and constitute de facto violations of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Not everyone in Democrat-run Michigan agrees with Rice, as Nikki Snyder, a Republican who serves on the Michigan Board of Education, said she is excited to see tax dollars taken from the get-rich-quick-scheming DEI consultants and return them to educating children.
You are no longer permitted to teach our students that superiority and oppression is a racial quality rather than a human quality any person is capable of, according to I am looking forward to public education and our higher education systems receiving a very clear message. It divides us and encourages discrimination”, she said.
The Trump administration’s campaign to end the DEI ideological monopoly on America’s educational institutions extends far beyond the AASA and Michigan, and it will continue to grow as the long-established educational industrial complex tries to regroup after being pressured by the Trump administration to reform and concentrate on students.
According to the Daily Caller, other liars in the American educational system are also hyperventilating over the memo. The American Council on Education (ACE), the American Council on Education ( AAUP), and EdTrust are all working together in a rat race.
EdTrust, a consulting firm for education DEI, revived the tired and unsuccessful messaging of the left during the first Trump administration, calling the steps to end discrimination “essentially Jim Crow 2.0.”
According to EdTrust,” this administration is instead leaning into the most primal and prejudice-based fears of a racist faction of Americans and enacting the same policies that were developed to subjugate black Americans.”
AAUP said,” We must vigorously oppose the assault on our education, research, healthcare, and jobs”, and it invited members to join it and the Higher Education Labor United union” throughout the winter and spring for mass actions to fight for an education system that serves all of us and a robust, inclusive democracy”.
” Trump and his cronies, through threats and intimidation, are dead set on returning to a world where they enjoyed unfettered preferential treatment”, AAUP wrote, apparently unaware of the irony, as the entire DEI regime is based on preferential treatment for certain races. Students and faculty across the country are organizing in their communities in response to these assaults on education and civil rights. Join us. The best way to confront those who want to end our democracy is to unite in broad coalitions.
The AASA memo challenged the Trump administration’s willingness to enforce its guidance, saying that it does not amount to law, and ACE president Ted Mitchell has made the same argument, telling an audience of “5, 000 stakeholders” that “overcompliance, anticipatory compliance, pre-emptive compliance, is not a strategy. The strategy needs to be much more considered, much more nuanced”.
To revoke federal funding, the Department of Education Office for Civil Rights will need to conduct investigations into school districts and discover that their policies are in violation of civil rights. Following the Biden administration’s destructive policies, the Trump administration has already started some investigations.
