Donald Trump is updating his office at the White House in ways both big and small.
Trump has mandated work be done on the Resolute Desk, which was first used by president in 1880 with Rutherford B. Hayes.

” A President, after vote, gets a choice of 1 in 7 tables”, he explained on Truth Social. ” This table, the ‘ C&, O,’ which is also very well-known and was used by President George H. W. Bush and people, has been partially installed in the White House while the Resolute Office is being gently refinished—a very important task. This is a wonderful, but temporary alternative”!
This will be the Resolute Desk’s next motion since Trump’s election as president. When he arrived, it was largely disassembled to make room for the Reagan Rug’s return.
The Resolute Desk has been used by each of the five most new president, though some have done so throughout history. As Trump noted, President George H. W. Bush used the” C&, O Desk” in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Queen Victoria gifted the 1, 300-pound office to Hayes, and it has been used off and on ever since. Although Bush was the only president to frequently use the C&, O office while in office, it was constructed in 1920.
Trump claims that the federal government does “take over” DC.
During both of his terms in office, Trump has attempted to modify various features of the president. Notably, he presided over the construction of a fresh Air Force One during his first word, which he is still waiting to receive in his second.
He may hope for quicker results as he refinishes the Oval Office furniture and has asked tycoon backer Elon Musk to force Boeing to give the new jet.
