Hispanic President Claudia Sheinbaum on Thursday said that her country would not bear an “invasion” of its independence, after Washington’s determination to identify several drug cartels as criminal organisations. She accused US novelists of being incompetent for handing arms to drug traffickers and promised to file novel legal action against them.
Sheinbaum pointed out collaboration without subordination, saying,” They can call them ( the cartels ) whatever they want, but with Mexico, it is collaboration and coordination, never subordination or interventionism, and even less invasion”.
Her remarks were made as a result of President Donald Trump’s administration’s growing tension to combat illegal immigration and drug smuggling. To prevent Trump’s threatened 25 % taxes, Mexico has increased participation in combating cocaine trafficking.
Mexico’s Jalisco New Generation and Sinaloa cartels, two of the country’s most effective and violent criminal organizations, are among the eight Latin National drug trafficking organizations designated by the US as criminal organizations.
The title of cartels,” cannot be an option for the US to enter our sovereignty”, Mexican leader said.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made an effort to calm the nation by stating that the country prefers to work with Mexico while providing information on gang activities.
The preferred approach to working with our Mexican lovers is to work together, he said, giving them a lot of details about who they are and where they are located.
Sheinbaum also mentioned that Mexico’s lawsuit against US gun manufacturers may include allegations of alleged” complicity” with criminal organizations.
Elon Musk, a tech billionaire, said” they’re ready for drone strikes,” sparking rumors about potential military actions. Sheinbaum confirmed that the US has long cooperated by using robots to observe organizations.
Amid growing conflicts, Sheinbaum announced plans to introduce a democratic reform to prevent Mexico’s independence against breaches by land, air, or water.
However, Canada joined the US in labelling seven drug cartel as “terrorist institutions”, including the Gulf Cartel, Sinaloa Cartel, Michoacan Family, United Cartels, MS-13, TdA, and Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
Up to 750, 000 arms from US producers are reportedly smuggled across the border each year, according to Mexico. Since the army was sent to combat trafficking in 2006, drug-related violence has claimed about 480 000 lives despite strict gun control.
Although Sheinbaum ruled out declaring “war” on cartel, she has moved away from her counterpart’s “hugs no guns” coverage by increasing drug convulsions and deploying more troops to the US borders. This change is made as part of Trump’s ongoing negotiations to put a temporary stop to tariff threats.
The head of security for one of its factions was among the two key figures detained by Mexican authorities this week.
