The U.S. Postal Service ( USPS) is a play that Donald Trump is developing to give the executive branch a lot of authority. Trump lately passed an executive order, giving him more power over separate bodies like the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Trade Commission.  ,

It’s almost certainly unconstitutional to leave Congress out of the loop when modifying the authority of these independent agencies, just like the Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) attempts to cut spending unilaterally. And in the case of the USPS, it’s exclusively forbidden by law.
According to the Washington Post, Trump reportedly intends to pass an executive order removing the telegraph board this week and transferring the organization under the command of the Commerce Department and Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The board intends to sue Trump for violating his order and may file a lawsuit if Trump attempts to fire them or change the agency’s status as separate.
Earlier this year, the latest Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, announced his retirement.  ,
The prince claims to be more knowledgeable than his subjects and that he will do his best for them in a relatively stately manner. However, it also removes any notions of monitoring, impartiality, and justice, and that some states doesn’t get treated differently than other state or cities, according to JamesO’Rourke, a student at the University of Notre Dame who studies the Postal Service.
That’s a jar, as the Washington Post points out.
The transition from the Postal Service to the Commerce Department is questionable in the near future. The Postal Regulatory Commission has strong control over the email program and keeps an eye on any geographical bias in the delivery price and delivery services. It is unclear if Trump’s attempt will change that party, as well.
From its foundation in 1775 until 1970, the U. S. email program was a social tissue of the White House. The message chief frequently worked with Congress to negotiate the postmaster standard, and presidents were known to assign their political allies or strategy leaders.
However, Congress accidentally splintered the agency into a standing organization by the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, which was the result of a terrible nationwide mail strike.

Social dynamite can be found experimenting with the USPS’s structure. The British people just value the national parks for their enjoyment.  ,
DeJoy masterminded a 10-year reform, cost-cutting, and modernization strategy for the company strategy in 2021. The quarter ending Dec. 31 showed a small improvement over the$ 1.5 billion loss in 2023.

Trump has suggested the USPS may be privatized. Privatization is feasible as long as the government was prepared to cut off email to millions of rural residents. Without that, there is no way for any private firm to generate income by delivering message to every small town and village in America.  ,
The White House claims that any professional get reversing the postal services is being considered.  ,
” This is not true. Secretary Lutnick is no pushing for such an executive order, according to a White House official who spoke to CNN. No for executive order is in the works.
But, the White House remained silent about the possibility of privatizing USPS.
Different nations have regulated their post service. However, a plan to privatize the 250-year-old service that predates the founding of the United States had fundamentally alter how people are delivered and also who can receive the service. The USPS must provide to all addresses, even those in rural areas, if the present law requires it because it is too expensive for a private company to effectively serve. Yet the “last hour” of distribution to homes is dependent on the Postal Service for some online purchases handled by private companies like United Parcel Service.
In December, next President-elect Trump said privatizing the USPS is” not the worst idea I’ve always heard”.
At a press conference held at his Mar-a-Lago land in Florida, Trump stated,” It’s an thought that a lot of people have liked for a long time. ” We’re looking at it”. Trump’s attempt to sell the service in his first term was abandoned in 2018.

It will be exciting to see how everything turns out. The professional unit hunting on their country has so far been largely silence in Congress. That’s never going to last very long.
