The world was appalled and disgusted by the Hamas success parade on Thursday, which featured the graves of four people who they had murdered, including an old man and a man they claimed to be the mother of two young kids, and those two kids, one of whom was nine months old. Perhaps the Grand Muftis of Saudi Arabia and Dubai have reportedly been moved to denounce Hamas ‘ actions, which has reportedly sparked the West’s never-ending search for that most elusive of companies, which is the wish of many Europeans and North Americans for a quiet coming: average Islam.

The announcement came in X articles that have not been substantiated, although no rejections have been issued, sometimes. The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh, said:” What we saw now in Gaza is a disgrace to Islam, an action of blasphemy against Allah”. The taking of the Grand Mufti of Dubai, Ahmed al-Haddad, was related. He declared:” Hamas has brought sorrow to Islam on a degree never seen before”. These comments spread far and wide, al-Haddad’s got 1.3 million perspectives, and al-Sheikh’s 208, 800.
Some people saw the claims as a positive sign. Uri Kurlianchik, who describes himself as” Jewish, Zionist, Soviet, Israeli, Geek, Author, Hiker, Eclectic, Nocturnal, Trilingual, Listener, Observer, Friendly” and has over 50, 000 followers on X, posted the two statements and wrote:” Real Arabs are starting to speak up. Never thought I’d see the day” ! ,
Sometimes he also hasn’t. One user responded:” Sorry. If monday’ disturbed them’, but not the 504 weeks before, color me underwhelmed”. Really. Hamas committed many incredible horrors on Oct. 7, 2023, as it murdered 1, 200 Israelis, and the Grand Muftis were somewhat motionless about that.
However, their thoughts took in others as well. Although he later deleted the article, and with great purpose, Simon Sebag Montefiore, a well-known historian, wrote that” these decisions are appreciated.” Note that both Muftis did not speak about the bad done to Hamas ‘ Jewish patients, but to the “disgrace” and” guilt” that Hamas ‘ steps brought to Islam. They were never worried about social terrible, but about Islam’s image. For the Muftis, taking them by the expression of their described claims, the only “disgrace to Islam” and” sorrow to Islam” in Hamas ‘ party was in the fact that many people saw it and thought poorly of Islam as a result.  ,

The Grand Muftis ‘ statements are inexact on that amount. However, some assume, without a sign of proof, that they’re saying that Hamas ‘ deeds were un-Islamic. This is in line with the then two-decade-long search in the West for average Muslims, the supposedly popular Muslims, as opposed to the “extremists”. These centrists reject terrorism, vow to not engage in terrorism, and are genuinely content to live as equals with non-Muslims in a secular condition on an endless basis.
There is a lot of confusion about this, because it is becoming extremely common for Westerners to look around and see Islamists who don’t want to wag jihad and appear to coexist perfectly. The issue with these Islam is that they do not adhere to a view of Islam that is different from that of organizations like Hamas, ISIS, and al-Qaeda, as many in the West believe. There are neither reasonable Islamic religion nor moderate Islamic legal system. These reformers choose to disregard the Qur’an’s doctrines of conquest and subjection of infidels, but that doesn’t mean those lessons don’t exist.  ,
And the fact that they do exist casts the Muftis ‘ statements in a far different light from how many people have taken them. Hamas returned the coffins that apparently held the names of the four hostages, but little un-Islamic about it, and the Muftis didn’t deny it was. The unbelievers are” the most vile of created beings” ( Qur’an 98: 6 ) and Muslims are directed to” strike terror” in them ( Qur’an 8: 60 ). How is it that Hamas did never concord with that?

The West’s unending search for reasonable Muslims who reject all quite ugly and burning teachings is doomed to fail because like teachings can be found in Islam’s main texts and key theological expositions. So, it is unlikely that the moderates will always ride in to save the day. Instead of relying on the fantasy-based policy that has been the norm since September 11, we should look at the situation realistically and develop a plan that addresses the actual problem.
Had the Bibas family’s behavior signal a return to reality? Sometimes. However, if the claims made by the Grand Muftis are true, they are attempting to prevent a return to reality.
