After Guy Pearce claimed he was a victim of Spacey’s sexual abuse, Kevin Spacey is slamming him as the pair filmed their 1997 film” L. A. Confidential”.
During a recent appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s” Honors Chatter” radio, Pearce says he spent “five times” dismissing Spacey’s reported advances as “nothing”, but then realizes he was “targeted … no problem”.
” I was kind of afraid of Kevin because he’s very an extreme man”, said the Oscar-nominated” Brutalist” sun, then 57. ” He holds a place wonderfully. But I was young and vulnerable”.
Pearce claimed that he “probably was a prey to a degree,” but he was anxious to fully recognize as one.
” I was certainly not a victim by any means the way that other people have been to sexual predators,” Pearce said, adding that” the only days” he felt safe were the days when actor Simon Baker was also on set.
At that point, Pearce would be “dumped like a warm potatoes” as , Spacey , focused on the” 10 days prettier” Aussie.
Pearce claims that Spacey’s impact on him was brought up when the# MeToo movement saw the latter being accused of sexual assault and harassment by a number of male actors dating back to the 1980s.
” I broke down and sobbed, and I don’t quit” upon hearing the claims, Pearce recalled. ” I think it actually dawned on me how much of an influence had occurred and how I kind of brushed it off and how I had neither shelved it or blocked it out or whatever. That was a truly remarkable wake-up call”.
In the decades since, Pearce says he’s “had a couple of clashes with Kevin” that “got ugly”, adding that he doesn’t “want him to get away with what he gets ahead with”.
The past” House of Cards” sun criticized Pearce for trying to “play this out in the internet… 28 years later, after I’ve been through hell and back” on Tuesday in a video posted to X.
Only in time to stop the villain, right? Is that what’s going on below? What took you so much”? Spacey asked. ” I mean, you want to have a chat, I’m happy to do so, any day, any place”, but finally told Pearce he’s” hardly a victim”.
Earlier in his reply, the ,” American Beauty”  , sun asked whether Pearce noted in his discussion that” a year after we shot’ L. A. Confidential,’ you flew to Savannah, Georgia, while I was filming ‘ Evening in the Garden of Good and Evil ‘ only to spend time with me? I mean, did you tell the press that to? Or does that not “fit” with your target tale, you might ask?
Spacey then apologized bitterly for no receiving” the information” that Pearce didn’t want to spend time with him.
” I mean even there was another purpose, I don’t know. But that doesn’t make any sense that you would’ve really been leading me on, proper”? Spacey quipped.
In recent years, more than , 50 people have formally accused Spacey , of sexual misconduct. He was found innocent in a London courtroom in 2023 on all nine counts against which he was acquitted. Less than a year earlier, a New York , jury found he did no sexually abuse professional Anthony Rapp.
